from managing a university investment fund to multiple internships, deshawn ivey ’19 is more than ready to make his mark in the financial world.

it seems like deshawn ivey '19 is everywhere on campus. he holds leadership roles in widener's student government association and with black men united. deshawn is a resident assistant, and, during his junior year, was selected as president for a day, assuming the role of university president.
on top of all this, deshawn has taken every opportunity to turn his education into action in preparation for his entry into the financial world. deshawn applied his classroom knowledge to widener's money club, where he helped manage a real investment fund. he's had multiple internships and has fielded multiple job offers, months before graduation day.

in the state-of-the-art finance lab, deshawn managed a real investment fund using the same hardware and software employed on wall street. at internships with an asset management firm and the city of philadelphia, he put classroom knowledge to work on real-world issues.
